Absolutely loved this first post from you and super excited to read more. I agree with you - the internet used to be so exciting and now it feels like wading through mountains of nonsense, advertisements and conflated arguments.
Great piece! Can't wait to look into the resources you've mentioned at the end. I'm about 1/3 of the way through filter world at the moment, it's so good.
I was visiting family and we went on a day out in Brighton. Visited a coffee shop that had all the tells that was mentioned in the book 😅 Never be the same.
Glad you are getting into all of this and thank you so much for sharing your extensive experience and research, Patrick. As a writer, creator, and person in recovery, I've been deeply interested in this topic as well from multiple cultural angles. It can feel overwhelming but I really appreciate how you focus on the possibility of what comes next. Tristan's work as well as Jaron's and Mo Gawdat's Scary Smart have opened my mind to many new perspectives. Like it or not, we are all in this thing!

Filterworld is a good one for sure. You'll never look at a coffee shop the same way again...

Mo Gawdat is new to me Allison - thanks for the reference and the plug :)
Excellent!
